Stand-up comedy is a favorite in many households, and it seems that you can always find a comedian who is talking about something different. Whether you prefer raw and vulgar material, family-friendly comedy or something in between, you can usually find what you are looking for.
Comedians in recent years, however, often seem to run out of originality. Although there are plenty of talented, humorous and unique comedians out there, many of the comedians on the scene seem to have tired and unoriginal routines that leave your audience feeling a bit disappointed.
There are many explanations that could be the cause of this decrease in originality. Many comedians have been telling jokes for years, and they may have simply ran out of things to laugh and joke about. Some of these older comedians might even be getting tired of their job and no longer find the same joy in making others laugh as they once did.
Another reason that there might be a decrease in originality is because comedians are attempting to mimic their favorite comedians. Many do this because they see their favorite comedian as a bit of an idol, but others do it because they think that it will make them famous. Either way, we should embrace the original comedians who are out there; they are truly the most talented.
